This soleme we now submit with the following alterations to * the points supporting the soheme in our reply to the Memorandum

Incremental Advances.

1.

From date of entry into the Force until the limit of 21 years service is reached.

The age limit of recruitment for Pre/War Officers was that of 21 to 26 years for entry.

In practice, the average age of

entry was in the region of 24 years of age, and, altho' as stat - -ed in the Police Force Ord. the retiring age is stated as 55 years of age, this is the age when Government may retire an

officer, on pension, without further obligations.

The custom, however was for Officers, irrespective of rank, to retire at the age of 45 years of age
